The principle of the apparatus is based on transdermal therapeutic stimulation of the eye with a pulsed electric current, that passing through the eye, causes excitation of the optic nerve, controlled by the parameters of elementary visual sensations - phosphenes.
The device can be used in the diagnosis and treatment of the following diseases:
atrophy and optic neuritis;
central and peripheral retinal degeneration;
essential hemeralopia;
retinitis pigmentosa;
retinal disinsertion;
macular degeneration;
chorioretinitis;
amblyopia;
consequences of inflammation and traumatic lesions of the retina and optic nerve;
congenital pathology of the optic nerve.
The device can be used to prevent visual impairment, especially in people employed in industries with intense visual stress.
The device has 3 modes:
THRESHOLD - determination of the absolute threshold of the electric sensitivity of the eye;
LABILITY - determination of the critical frequency of the disappearance of phosphenes;
STIMULATION - therapeutic regimen.
