Extremely high-frequency therapy (EHF) is the therapeutic use of millimeter-wave electromagnetic waves. The experience of using this type of therapy in clinical practice has been more than 20 years and shows high efficiency in treatment of a wide range of diseases.
Extremely high frequencies operate in the range of 30-300 GHz (wavelength range - 10-1 mm). A feature of this frequency range is that millimeter-wave radiation of cosmic origin is practically absorbed by the Earth’s atmosphere, therefore the biological evolution of all living organisms occurred with a very small natural EHF electromagnetic background. This, apparently, explains the active effect of low-intensity millimeter radiation on a person.
The following wavelengths are most often used in EHF-therapy: 4.9 mm (60.12 GHz), 5.6 mm (53.33 GHz) and 7.1 mm (42.19 GHz). Low-intensity millimeter radiation refers to non-ionizing radiation, i.e. in principle, it can not have a destructive harmful effect on the biological tissues of the body, and therefore it is safe.
The therapeutic effect of extremely high-frequency radiation is based on the conformational restructuring of the structural elements of the skin induced by millimeter waves and the activation of the nerve conduits of the skin with tonic activity. As a result of modulation of their impulse activity; the structure of the upward impulse flow changes, which leads to the activation of skin-visceral reflexes.
Under the influence of millimeter waves on zones of local pain, reflexogenic zones and biologically active points, a change in the activity of the autonomic nervous and endocrine systems occurs, which improves the trophism of the mucous membrane of the gastroduodenal zone, glandular apparatus of the skin. Along with this, conformational changes in the dermal structures of the skin under the influence of millimeter-wave radio waves induce immunogenesis of the skin, and thereby are able to correct humoral and cellular immunity and body reactivity. The body's reactions to millimeter-wave radio waves develop within the framework of the general adaptation syndrome and are manifested in an increase in the nonspecific resistance of the body to environmental factors. The neurohumoral activation of the antioxidant system of the body that occurs during millimeter-wave irradiation blocks the processes of lipid peroxidation, which plays an important role in the pathogenesis of a number of diseases and their exacerbations.
Some researchers consider the specific bioinformation function of EHF radiation associated with resonant energy absorption, triggering of self-oscillating processes and conformational rearrangement in biological structures. Such ideas are based on the coincidence of the frequency of EHF radiation with the frequency of relaxation vibrations of some biological molecules. This creates theoretical prerequisites for the formation of synchronously oscillating ensembles of biological macromolecules. When analyzing such ideas, it is necessary, however, to take into account that the phenomenon of frequency-dependent absorption of electromagnetic energy has been revealed for the simplest and cell cultures. In real biological objects, such a phenomenon has not yet been correctly established. Based on this, at present there is no sufficient scientific basis for constructing a theory of the mechanism of action of EHF radiation based on the so-called biological resonance.
It should be noted such features of EHF-therapy as non-invasiveness, the absence of allergy to EHF-radiation, its effectiveness as monotherapy, i.e. drug-free therapy. In this case, a specific feature of the EHF effect is its normalizing character, i.e. EHF radiation normalizes only the physiological parameters of a number of body conditions that deviate from it: it increases the values of reduced indicators and decreases the values of overestimated values. The parameters that are normal do not respond to irradiation of the body with a millimeter field.
Long-term clinical practice of using EHF radiation with high reliability has established that with almost any disease, EHF therapy:
• has no side effects;
• It is well combined with other methods - medicinal, surgical, physiotherapeutic, etc., fixing their effect, reducing the standard treatment time, lengthening the period of remission;
• has a multidrug effect, affecting both the main and side diseases;
• increases non-specific resistance;
• increases the number of white blood cells;
• has an antistress effect;
• increases the immune status of the body;
• normalizes the level of plasma hormones;
• activates bone marrow;
• increases the release of reserve blood;
• normalizes the rheological properties of blood;
• activates microcirculation;
• normalizes antioxidant status;
• relieves pain;
• activates cell regeneration, accelerates wound healing;
• normalizes the secretion and motility of the gastrointestinal tract;
• has a sedative effect;
• stabilizes psychoemotics
